Snow Days are the best Reading Days

Well so far winter has hit us hard. We have about a foot of snow on the ground with sub zero temps. When I married my husband I told him I would follow him to the ends of the earth. We live there now in Minnesota. LOL!
My favorite day this week was Tuesday. It was a snow day. That means I didn’t go to work I got to stay home and read a good book. There’s nothing better on a snow day than to curl up in my warm bed with a great book to read and a cup of organic hot cocoa. Yummy!
You are all probably thinking I picked a fun book to read like “Between Sundays” by Karen Kingsbury. Nope. Read it!
Okay, how about the free book I’m giving away just for becoming a Preferred Customer at http://www.bookwormsunited.com.(see ad below)? Nope. Read it!
Or the free book you get whenever you make a purchase this month at http://www.bookwormsunited.com., “The Christmas Box” by Richard Paul Evans. Nope! Saw the movie now I can’t read it!
There was a book I was in the middle of and had to finish. The book I was reading is called, “The Power of Outrageous Marketing”, by Joe Vitale. Ugh! You might say. How boring! Well I really get engrossed in business books just as easily as fiction.
Robert Kiyosaki in his book, “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, encourages all business people to stay educated. Mr. Kiyosaki says we should read at least 15 minutes a day for our businesses to keep them moving forward. So I do. But since I don’t have 15 minutes a day to do this stationary I get books on C.D. and listen in my car.
I promise the next snow day I will have fiction waiting for me.
Share with us your favorite snow/rain day reading material, place and food. I dare you to bare your souls.

Michelle,
What a nice blog to read! I’m so glad I stopped by. The content flows very nicely and you make me feel as if I know you just a little bit better. Also I loved what you said about your “cute husband.” I’ve got one of them too! (LOL)
We don’t have many snow days in NC so I can never use that as an excuse to read. Right now though, I’m actually reading/reviewing a book from fellow WBO member, Diane Teagarden, called “Getting Out of Limbo” a self-help guide for divorce.

It was a very snowy day here in Salt Lake today. I yearn to cuddle up with a book, in front of the fireplace. Just like I did as a kid.

Sorry, I didn’t really want that last post entered yet.
Anyway, as I was saying…
I always loved Christmas break because I would spend nearly the entire time cuddled up with books. Now as a busy mom I have to capture 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there.
My favorite is a fireplace, a nice comfortable quilt, a good book (back then it was mysteries like Nancy Drew), and a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream.
That sounds fantastically wonderful right now.
