Pump bookHello all you sports fans!

No, Pump Up The Power isn’t about power lifting weights it’s about power lifting your life and your business.

First of all I wanted to say it was great having all of you participate in our first book discussion last week. You all had much to offer. Don’t forget you can add your comments here at any time. You don’t have to wait for me.

For those of you that weren’t able to make our discussion last week it isn’t too late for this week. But it’s Wednesday you say! Well our group decided it would work best with everyone’s busy schedules to meet on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. CST. So if you want to join us tomorrow night send me an e-mail at Michelle@Bookwormsunited.com and I will give you the dial in number with the passcode.

Here’s our notes from last week’s meeting:

Pg. 11 Regardless of what you have already done there is still something specific that you should be doing. That something is tied into your passion because your passion is an indication of your purpose.

Power Nugget #1 pg. 12 “Great People are not made – They are born!”

God makes everything great. God made you so you were born great!

What’s holding you back from your purpose?

Pg. 13 Don’t waste any more time doing those things that are not related to your purpose.

What have you always wanted to do?

I believe this is very encouraging for stepping out of the box. “Don’t let your rut keep you from going for it.”

If money was not an issue, what would you do?

Pg. 16 “One word of caution here: Make sure that your passion is channeled with wisdom. If it’s your passion to sleep, don’t quit your job so you can sleep all the time.”

Pg. 17 “In order to move into your purpose you must bring closure to your past.”

What doors from your past are still wide open and holding you back?

What are you going to do about those doors? The choice is yours.

Learn the Art of Forgiveness

Stomp Out Shame and Guilt

Change Your Personal Mental Picture-Here’s an exercise we all did with a lot of “ah ha’s” showing up:

1. Make a list of all your good qualities.
2. Then a list of the ones you don’t like.
3. Cross off the ones that can’t be changed.
4. Work at doing the opposite of list #2. You can change!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~““
Pg 27 Comparing yourself to another person puts you in a box.
“Being you and daring to be different will give you an entirely new sense of freedom.”
Pg. 31 Affirmation: “I will no longer fill codependent roles within my family or in any other relationship. I can better serve those I love by encouraging them to find healing for their issues and by not trying to be their Savior.”
Live By The Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
YOU Were Born to Win
“As long as you DON’T QUIT, you win.” Pg. 35
If You Believe It You Can Achieve It
Pg. 37 Shaquille O’Neal as a jockey. Even thought the Super Bowl commercial this year might make you think it could happen it can’t for so many reasons.
If you hate cooking, why would you want to open a restaurant? Do a business where you are passionate about the product or service. It has to be a product or service you already love not one where you have to convince yourself you love it.
The two businesses I started last year are ones I’m passionate about. Languages are my passion, some of you will say “She’s weird!”. Books have been my passion since childhood. So therefore I’ve created Dora & Diego Homeschool Spanish with live online Spanish classes for homeschool kids. We give learning languages a personal touch. And my business with multiple streams of income is Bookworms United. I am an Independent BookWise Associate that has an online bookstore.
My advice to you is if you aren’t passionate about your business then don’t do it. You would be like a salmon swimming against the current trying to make things work. I know salmon make it to their destination but that is how God made them to operate, not us. God gives us gifts and abilities to share with the world. We will cover that in this week’s book club meeting.
You will definitely want to join us Thursday night as I have a surprise for everyone who attends. It involves books, that’s a given, and Starbucks Coffee.
All right I’ve said too much.
So join us this Thursday, February 21 at 9 p.m. CST!
Have a great day,
Michelle Rothwell, Founder
Bookworms United
and
Dora & Diego Homeschool Spanish
